  • .. summer’s got me feelin sluggish ..


    sorry all, the summer heat and humidity has left me lazy and lethargic. the only action i’ve been up in are festivals and accumulating yukatas (summer kimono) at an insane rate. i’ve been smitten by the beautiful designs of traditional japanese clothing and have gotten a bit obsessed…. i currently own 4.  anyways…… here are some pictures from the most recent hanabi (fireworks show) from my now-called *city*. yes, we have dumped the old “machi” (town) status and have moved up to being a big bad city. we are bigger and our other half we’ve merged with is pretty bad, there’s nothing there really. nope. nothing. on the other hand, for those of u who actually write me, my address is slightly shorter for ur convenience!

    this fireworks show sure beat anything i ever watched at home. these pictures don’t do the show justice, but u kinda get the idea.

  • ooops……


    my 7th class on wednesdays consist of two japanese english teachers who are pretty fluent in english. often times they like to ask,
    “what’s (insert looooong description here) in american slang?”
    so far i’ve taught them expressions like “it’s aaaall good” to stuff like “what the f**K is that!!?” yes, i’m a great teacher, i kno.. since we were reading about “cheaters”, yoshida-san, this sweeet sweeeet woman in her mid 60′s, asked me,
    “what do you call a female who is easy and sleeps with many men??” 
    being the diligent student she is, she immediately wanted to write the new vocabulary down. it just so happened she forgot to bring her notebook and decided to write it down on the coverpage of her textbook in pen.

  • got boobs??

    it’s hard not to be immature and even harder not to giggle about these things, but i just can’t help it.  i mean, what is it with this country and boobs??







    here is a song frequently played in a popular children’s anime “gonjiki no gash bell”.  the lyrics translate to something like: 


    grope, grope; grope breasts!

     





    just when i thought i couldn’t be surprised anymore than i already have been by japan’s remarkably packaged products, i came across this. honestly, i had to fight every urge not to buy this product. who wouldn’t want a beautiful valley made of a breast? especially if they can be brought near with both hands??? for those of you interested in this product, it can be found at ur nearby drugstore like mastumoto or that other one with the red squirrel in front. let me know how it works out for ya!

    Canyoning: i suppose you could define this recreational activity as getting geared up in a wetsuit, lifejacket, helmet & boots, then floating down a river. oh yeah, and then there’s the part where you get dropped down an eighteen meter waterfall. good stuff… I *highly* recommend this….
