i guess i’m still sick, so i’ve been spending all my free time in my bed trying to stay warm. each work day is kind of a blur cuz i’m just so tired from being sick. i’m sure the cold has something to do with it as well but anyways, on to some good news. *MY CAMERA IS BACK!* before i go n take a buncha pictures, i prolly should sort thru my existing ones and put them up huh? i resolve to update (even if it’s just a one-picture post) every other day starting…..tomorrow? let’s see how well that goes.

hello!

i’m back.

the month of december was kind of hectic. the gift-buying, the gift-making, many a gingerbread (more like graham cracker) house-constructing, yasuko’s bday cake fiasco, random trips to far away places in ibaraki, and of course, work. all in all, the month (and year) ended quite well. however, i’m sorry to say, due to an unfortunate accident, my primary (ixy 600) AND secondary (camera fone) cameras are out of commission. don’t get me wrong, i didn’t actually break these things myself. they were just victims of horrendous accidents that were totally out of my hand…

it snowed ol kamisu last nite. SNOWED!!! it kinda makes the cold a lot more worth it, but with snow comes some unforeseen disasters such as slipping on an icy step while lugging down ur friend’s suitcase. poor kevin…

these are a bit overdue, but here they are, my candycane reindeer. this year, with oversized noses & mismatched antlers.

i’m probably being stupid for letting one person kill my inspiration for doing anything creative, but i guess that’s just how i am. (very piscean i kno)   i’ll be back when something kicks me back into motion or if i get a random itch to put stuff up, so until then… take care & happy holidays

home was good, toooo good. i’ve already been back in japan for 4 days but i still need some more time to recover. i’ll be back soon. pictures will be too. take care.. bubye now!

this is a finger-painting i made wiith my kids (as in students who are not kids of my own) back at home when i was teaching the impressionism unit for art. recognize it from somewhere?

1. i stand at a height of 4 feet 10 1/4 inches  (yes, that quarter inch makes a huge difference)

2. i don’t like raw tomatoes *shudder*

3. i used to have a pet hedgehog named donkey kong, but everyone called him sonic

4. my current boyfriend is the first guy i ever kissed

5. i enjoy starting my day by eating some slimy, fermented soy beans (nattou). it’s quite healthy for you.

6. i absolutely can’t stand it when people mispronounce the word nuclear. it’s NOT nu-ku-ler, it’s NU-KLEE-UHR !!!! get it right!!!!

7. i love all kinds of arts & crafts. i have yet to specialize in something.. but wut?

8. i am afraid of the dark 

9. “do unto others as you would have them do unto you” i totally live by this.

10. for the last 11 years, i haven’t had any meat with the exception of puffer fish (fugu), which i tried last december

11. i own more sneakers than i do socks

12. when i was 5, i once pretended that i had finished eating my rice by dumping it into the (clothes) dryer just so i could get my eskimo pie dessert. that didn’t work out too well..

13. i can’t live without a decent cup of coffee (preferably a mocha or vanilla soy latte)

14. i don’t kno if you’ve noticed, but hello kitty is my weakness

15.  i believe that it’s possible for one person can make a difference. even if you can’t see it right away.

16. i’ve been swimming my whole life, but i will only swim in pools. there’s just something about being in open water that frightens me….

17. there’s nothing more fun than a visit to the record store after payday. (well except listening to new music… enhanced) 

18. i hate a huge percentage of ibaraki drivers. they totally live up to their infamy. there isn’t a day that goes by where someone doesn’t almost hit me cuz they don’t bother checking before they turn. it’s THE WORST.

19. i don’t like it when people pat me on my head. when u’re this short, it’s just rude.

20. i dream about taking a tour around the world. there are so many beautiful sights to see…..(and photos to shoooot) *sigh*
